Mettler Toledo

Business Challenge

Mettler Toledo, a global leader in precision instruments, faced challenges like flat on-time delivery rates, low inventory turnover, and inaccurate forecasts by 2019. To address these issues, the company implemented Demand-Driven MRP (DDMRP), starting with pilot projects on UVB refractometers and titrators. Despite delays caused by COVID-19, the rollout expanded to all 20 plants over two years. Success was driven by strong change management using John Kotter’s model, extensive training, user-friendly technology like Intuiflow, and innovative tools such as AI-powered buffer optimization. Empowering plants to customize their implementation and fostering a culture of visibility and simplicity were pivotal in transforming Mettler Toledo's supply chain into a more resilient, efficient system.
